The content must also be suitable for reading in the classroom as deemed appropriate at the sole discretion of our Scholarship Reviewing Committee. (The committee reserves the right to disqualify a entry based on their sole discretion*).
- Use of discriminatory statements, damaging someone's reputation or trust or posting obscene comments is strictly prohibited.
- Do not disclose private information: Last Name, home address, personal telephone numbers, etc...
- A student can only submit one entry.
- The content of the entry must be original. Copyright violations and plagiarism will not be tolerated.
- Entry must be submitted by a student registered in a K-12 school within Santa Clara County, CA.
- The award winning scholars must express in a written SLAM poem, persuasive essay or other form of creative writing, how their education and learning WILL make a difference in their community.
- Winners will be selected for outstanding creative expression, purpose of thought and specific - actionable change that enables the greatest good for the greatest number of people.
- Once submitted, the contestants/participants grant recreationplus.org the right to publish in part or in whole, in any medium.
- Entries Accepted until April 25th, 2009.
- Finalists will be notified by May 25th, 2009.
- Awards to be presented in early June, 2009.
